Ags' Throwback #2: Singapore

My second throwback post is about all my visits in one of the World's top tourist destination, Singapore. Yep, I've been to SG for four times now (all for a very short visit) but every time still felt like my first time. The modern city is so beautiful it is never nakakasawa.

*****

My first visit was year 1999 with Dad, Mom and Sis after I graduated from grade school. It was a tour stop-over of our flight from Jeddah to Manila. SG was very different then, plain and simple to describe it (maybe because I didn't get to see most of it, or maybe because I wasn't that interested in seeing different places then). Pictures? nasa photo album namin gathering dust, hindi pa uso ang digital nun :)

There were no Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the bay then (not sure about SG flyer though). I couldn't recall most about our tour, all I could remember is we went to the Fountain of Youth, Merlion Park and Night Safari. We stayed at the Peninsula Hotel (I think).

December 2011, sis and I, together with her friends Glaiza and Gimmiel, visited SG again, this time to explore the city nang bonggang bongga. We stayed at The Inn at Temple Street right at the heart of Chinatown. I loved the place, it was kinda small but very cozy. It is very near Chinatown MRT Station so commuting was not a hassle.

Here are our photos. So much fun!

January 2014, my last trip to SG was extra special. Why? Because I went with The Boyfie! Tophe just got back from his 2-year OFW life in Riyadh, so we planned this trip immediately  to make up with the lost time, char! We stayed with Tophe's family in Tampines.

Shoe hunt and feet selfies :)

All girls love shoes, do you all agree? Of course! But as for me, I'm the type of girl who is always on the go so I prefer comfort shoes over stylish ones. Now if you've been following me on instagram (@ageau01), you'd notice that I always do the shoe (and legs) selfie... Proof?

The #OfficeShoeSelfie

Kahit naka medyas keri na, makapag shoe selfie lang

The #BahayShoeSelfie and #LegSelfie (pauso!)

The #BeachFeetfie

And #BeachFeetfie na may drama :)

Of course, once in a while meron din namang #HighheelsShoefie

Which will lead to #TapilokFeetFie

Why do I do this? I don't know. Maybe because of another hashtag: #maymaipostlang. Sabi nga sa The Soshal Network, "post the most photogenic part of your body" :)

Seriously though, I do this on all my travels, as a proof that I've set foot on that particular place. But the office and bahay foot/legs selfies? Wala, arte lang.

I don't own fab shoes. I always go for comfort. I don't buy shoes regularly. I buy only when I need one (and when mum buys one for me :D). I am done with the "Tiangge stage", where I can buy shoes for only 250pesos and wear it for a month or two only. I would rather go for mid-priced (not so pricey, utang na loob!) that would guarantee quality and comfort.

Yesterday, the need for a new pair of shoes arises. My 2-year old Grendha dollshoes gave me blisters. Maybe they're demanding for a retirement already. My mind is battling with my heart, I just bought a pair of boots last month!

Boots by Brash. Got it on sale at Payless

Of course I cannot wear boots all the time. Pang inarte lang yan. So I searched for the best ballet flats that I can wear from corporate, to casual, to metro manila commuting, to inarte.

Then I remembered the conversation I had with my sister about Yosi Samra. So I instantly did my assignment.. Searched the net, visited the website, read good reviews.

The last time I got a fold-able ballet flats (gift from my sis, thank you very much) was last October 2014.
Tory Burch Caroline Ballerina Flats

I am a regular 8 in shoe size, and since I ordered the flats online, I opted to get a pair half size bigger just to be safe. But to may dismay, its still too tight! maybe because of the garter? Or maybe my feet is wide :D My toes are complaining after wearing it (I still wear it though, sayang ang bayad).

Okay, back to YS. Because I learned my lesson from my last purchase. I did not (and never again) buy online. I went to YS  shop in Trinoma mall to try on their flats, choose a nice design (oh my, that was the hardest part, all designs are beautiful ), ordered a size 9 (one size bigger than my actual shoe size), and VIOLA!! Perfect fit!

I got a Samantha pair (two-tone: black/nude). It comes with a cute little box and a dust bag (it can easily fit in your bag!)

I wore them today in the office (yes, agad agad) and I loved them already! Ah-huh, you guessed it! This calls for another #shoeselfie!

Samantha Black/Nude

I love walking on them despite it not having an arch support. The elastic doesn't gives me blisters. Though its obvious that its a size bigger. It also has soft insole. Will I buy another pair? Of course! There still so much colors and designs to choose from.
